Maricopa County requires all food employees to receive food safety training. Find out how you can obtain a Food Employee certificate (formerly Food Handler's Card).
At least one employee that has supervisory and management responsibility and the authority to direct and control food preparation and service shall be a Certified Food Protection Manager (also known as "Food Safety Manager") who has shown proficiency of required information through passing a test that is part of an ACCREDITED PROGRAM.
The Environmental Service Department issues fee waived Food Employee certificates to volunteers of eligible non-profit organizations or students in a culinary arts program.
The Limited Use Food Employee Certificate process provides the opportunity for those with a disability to obtain a Limited Use Certificate in order to perform specific determined tasks of low public health risk while working under the direct supervision of the establishment’s Certified Food Protection Manager.
