Find a Job Through Our Career Services
COVID-19 Service Availability: Career services are available to Maricopa County residents. To promote the health and well-being of our clients and employees, many of our services have been modified so that residents can access them from the safety of their home, including resume and interview tutorials and one-on-one assistance. While our Career Centers remain open, all in-person services are available by appointment only.

Additionally, Arizona residents are able to create a resume and search through job postings by visiting www.azjobconnection.gov and creating a Job Seeker account.
Please note that HSD does not provide Unemployment Insurance (UI). However, you can apply for UI from the safety of your home by submitting an application online or by calling 1-877-600-2722. For more information from the Department of Economic Security (DES), please visit www.azui.gov.
Adults ages 18+ interested in developing professional skills and/or finding gainful employment may qualify for career services from the Human Services Department. ARIZONA@WORK - Maricopa County offers an array of free services to help you build the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to be successful in a chosen career pathway.
Basic and individualized career services are available to Maricopa County residents living outside the city of Phoenix. If you live in Phoenix, please click here to learn about career services available in your area.

Maricopa County residents searching and applying for job opportunities may access ARIZONA@WORK-Maricopa County basic career services.
Basic career services include, but are not limited to:
- Job search assistance
- Job readiness workshops
- Employment Academy access
- Basic skills assessments
- Computer lab access
- Job fair events

To qualify for career services, the following criteria must be met:
- Applicant is 18 years or older
- Applicant can legally work in the United States
Create AJC Account
To begin accessing services offered at one of the Maricopa County career centers, please create an Arizona Job Connection (AJC) PLUS account. This can be completed online or at one of our centers.
To begin creating an account, click on the “Job Seekers” tab in the menu followed by clicking on the “Create a Job Seeker Account” button on the right side of the page. Please follow the instructions provided on the “Create Job Seeker Account” page.
In addition to accessing ARIZONA@WORK - Maricopa County services, you will be able to use this account to write and post resumes, perform advanced job searches, receive job alerts, etc.

Once you have created an AJC profile, you will be able to access ARIZONA@WORK - Maricopa County basic career services at one of our centers. When visiting one of our centers, please bring a valid driver’s license to verify your identification.

Maricopa County residents seeking comprehensive career guidance, professional skills development, and work experience opportunities may qualify for individualized career services through ARIZONA@WORK - Maricopa County.
Individualized career services include, but are not limited to:
- Comprehensive guidance and coaching
- Apprenticeship, internship, and work experience opportunities
- Occupational skills training
- Financial literacy education
- Entrepreneurial skills training
- Alternative secondary school services

Please note that priority is given to individuals with the greatest economic and social need.

Schedule & Attend Orientation
To begin the application process, contact your local career center to sign up for an orientation using the information provided below. All seats are reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis.
This orientation will provide further information about our career services, including eligibility and application requirements. When visiting one of our centers, please bring a valid driver’s license to verify your identification.

Gather Required Documentation
Following the orientation, please collect the following documentation to help establish service eligibility. You will need to bring these documents with you to a one-on-one appointment with a Career Guidance Specialist.
- Completed Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) Application included in the orientation folder
- Printed Interest Profiler Assessment Report from www.mynextmove.org/explore/ip
- Valid driver’s license or state-issued ID
- Social Security card
- Income documentation for all household employment/income sources for the last 6 months
- If you have received Nutritional Assistance or TANF benefits within the last 6 months from the State of Arizona, then income documentation is not required
- If applicable, lay-off letter, WARN Notice, employer statement, etc.
- Males: A copy of Selective Service Registration from www.sss.gov
- Veterans: Copy of DD214 (Member Copy 4) and, if applicable, VA Disability Letter
- Non-US Citizens: Permanent Resident or Employment Authorization Card
Please note that additional documentation may be requested by workforce staff to determine eligibility.
Meet with Career Guidance Specialist
Once you have gathered the required documentation, please schedule a one-on-one appointment with a Career Guidance Specialist using the information provided below. During the appointment, the Career Guidance Specialist will work with you to complete the application and create a career plan.
